I
began designing for the web in 1995 with my first site, www.aircraftbuyer.com
as part of an on-line version of McGraw-Hill's AC FLYER magazine.
The site is still running today, but I no longer maintain it. It has
been modified since 1995, but
the basic structure has stayed the same. The site was altered to handle
an Oracle database accessed by Server-Side JavaScript. An outside firm
created the database coding, but I was the sole Webmaster, Art/Design,
and Production staff once the site was up and running. My wearing so
many
hats saved the company a lot of money hiring a web support staff. I familiarized
myself with JavaScript, Oracle, and several ad servers in the process.
The other sites presented in this section are all demo versions that
can be run from the CD, but aircraftbuyer.com must be run from the "live"
internet site, and therefore requires an internet connection to properly
view. To see the site "live," go to www.aircraftbuyer.com.
I no longer maintain this site, so I can't guarantee it will function
completely as I originally created it.
I won a McGraw-Hill Corporate Achievement Award for
Innovation in 1999 for my work on this web site.
